Berryville Hamfest Directions 

 Where The Hamfest Takes Place

The Hamfest is held at the Clarke County Ruritan Fairgrounds, located in Berryville, Virginia. Berryville is located along VA-7 where it intersects with US-340 approximately 9 miles east of Winchester, and 30 miles west of Leesburg. More specifically, the fairgrounds are located west of the middle of town, near the intersection of the west end of business VA-7 (a.k.a West Main Street), and VA-7 (bypass).

Driving Directions

Note that we use the west end entrance to the fairgrounds, where we are able to support two entry lanes into the facility. Parking is on the north side of the fairgrounds, with handicap parking available near the grandstand. If needed, on-grounds directions for parking will be provided at ticket sale point. Vehicles exiting from all parking areas are requested to follow signs to the east end of the fairgrounds north parking area for access back to business VA-7 / West Main Street for safety reasons.

Using Interstate 81:

Take exit 315 heading east on VA-7 toward Washington, DC. Go approximately 7.5 miles to the flashing yellow lights indicating an upcoming traffic signal. Turn right onto business VA-7 lane approaching the traffic light at the west end of Berryville. You’ll soon see the fairgrounds on the left.

Using the Capital Beltway (Interstate 495 Inner / Outer Loops):

On the west side of the Beltway, Choose either VA-7 west from Tyson’s Corner, VA (many traffic lights), or use VA-267 (Toll) west all the way to the VA-7 / VA-267 interchange in Leesburg. Follow VA-7 west (towards Winchester) for nearly 28 miles. This should put you at the second traffic light (since the VA-7 / VA-267 interchange) for business VA-7 (approx 3 miles after the first traffic light for business VA-7, and after crossing US-340). Turn left at the traffic light, and follow the road to the fairgrounds are on the left just ahead (approximately 1/3 mile).

Using Interstate 66 (coming from the east):

Take exit 23 (Delaplane), US-17 North for about 8 miles (toward Winchester). At the traffic light in Paris, VA (Fauquier County), turn left on to US-50 (westbound, toward Winchester) for about 9 miles. At Waterloo, VA, turn right at the traffic light intersection onto US-340 (northbound toward Berryville). Travel for 7.8 miles through Boyce, and then to Berryville. In the middle of town traffic light, turn left onto business VA-7 / West Main Street. Travel approximately 1.5 miles, Staying on business VA-7 through the roundabout (exit roundabout at second right upon entering) near Clarke County High School. Please use the west end of the fairgrounds entrance on the right (past the park entrance on the left).

SVARC will have members monitoring the club 2-meter repeater to assist those seeking information and/or directions to the hamfest. While this repeater is a Yaesu System Fusion repeater, it is configured to always transmit the output in FM mode.
